An inline fuse holder serves the purpose of keeping your fuses “in line” as the name suggests. Most are heavy duty and accept a variety of fuses of various amperages.
They are relatively low cost across the board depending upon manufacturer and purpose.
Inline fuse holders come in many different materials too. There are some that are cheaper and made out of plastic while others are a bit pricier and can be expanded to be something like gold plated for example. They can be found anywhere that sells fuses for anything from home electricity functioning to automobile electronics and fusing. You will find very small, simple ones for everyday projects for less than a dollar while the more sophisticated ones that offer additional functionality and protection will be a bit higher on the price scale.

It is very easy to insert a fuse into an inline fuse holder. Many fuses even have end caps that vary in size to ensure that the correct end is put into the holder. One type of fuse that takes advantage of this is a bottle fuse. However, in larger type projects, such as with fuses that exist in circuits with 200-600 volts and several thousands of amperes, the fuse may be held in place to the holder with a spring loaded clip or screws. Typically, anyone who wants to remove these fuses will have to acquire a special tool in order to do so. This is put in place for the most possible protection from interference for both people and materials which may be around these very powerful and dangerous circuits.
Many people find that they may have to rewire their fuses because they are renewable and will be thankful that they have an easy to use holder to make the job as simple as possible. It is always recommended not to attempt rewiring of a circuit without knowing the dangers of what you’re doing or being uninformed about how the process should be performed. Renewable fuses are being phased out but are still found on distribution boards.
Inline fuse holders may also serve purposes in everyday home usage, not just when you think of electricians and large powerful circuits. Some people have reported using them on something as simple as a home speaker set up to protect the current emitted from their sub woofer to their speakers. You never know where exactly one of these simple, but very productive, holders may come in handy.
