Then the larger problem is to find out exactly why that fuse needed to be replaced in the first place. Is it an underlying issue that is likely to repeat itself or is it something that was a fluke and an overload occurred as a onetime deal?

Blade FuseThis is something that you may have to consult with an experienced professional about. If the cards are on your side, all you will need to do is head off to the local store and check out fuses of all types and sizes, including Blade fuses. Here you can determine the correct amperage that is needed for your purpose and at the same time stock up on fuses so that if something else happens in the future you will be able to replace it immediately without any delay.

Fuses come in a variety of different types depending on the appliance or location. In an appliance that runs with a focus on fuses, the different measurements in amps are defined by the color to tell them apart from each other.

There are generally only three major classes and colors that are used in appliances which have plug type fuses. For Blade fuses and all others as well, red is used for appliances that go up to 700 watts. In general, this color and rating, which is at 3 amps is used for mainly lights. The next rating up applies to the class including 5 amps and goes up to 1200 watts. These fuses are black to distinguish them from the other two classes. The third, and most powerful of the three, is colored brown and rated at 13 amps and goes from 1200 watts up to 3250 watts.

The appliances that most frequently use these types of fuses are electric heaters which draw a lot more power. There are others available but not as widely and may be a bit more difficult to locate. If one of these types of Blade fuses blows, the main cause is due to an electrical fault within the appliance itself. This indicates it either needs repair or replacement.
