One thing you should always remember is:
Just because you CAN does NOT mean you should. So just because the fuse looks the same on the outside does not mean it is the same. Never replace a 30 amp fuse with a 60 amp fuse. Unless you are trying to burn something up. If it is supposed to be a 30 amp fuse then replace it with a 30 amp fuse.
There are many different styles and sizes of fuses and fuse holders not to start on the different companies that sell and make them. There are the AGU fuses, Blade fuse (ATC), Glass fuse and the Mini fuse (ATO). One of the companies that make the fuses is the Cooper Bussmann Transportation Products (CBT). Each one have there purpose in everyday life. The AGU fuses are used mostly when hooking up sound systems in vehicles. The ATC fuses are used in both the vehicles fuse boxes and in things like amps in the back of radio’s. Glass fuses are used in some of the older cars and also in other electronics. The mini fuses are used in the newer vehicles fuse boxes.
There are many different kinds and styles of fuse holders to go along with the different types of fuses. There is an ANL fuse hloder, an Inline fuse holder, a Maxi fuse holder. Then there are fuse blocks and fuse holders.
